SW-244-40 VOC is a VOC compliant, architectural and DOT grade, 40% alkylalkoxysilane water repellent that meets or exceeds NCHRP and Alberta Testing requirements for use on highways and bridge decks. The 40% neat silane formulation penetrates deep into the surface and bonds chemically resulting in permanent attachment of the water repellent molecule and long lasting protection. SW-244-40 VOC is clear and non-film forming which makes it an excellent choice for architectural construction projects such as stadiums, high- rise buildings, and parking garages. SW-244-40 VOC also meets or exceeds DOT highway and bridge specifications for penetrating, silane-based concrete treatments, both as a clear protective final treatment and as a concrete primer for coating systems.
SW-244-40 VOC is a non-yellowing, UV stable, clear penetrating water repellent. It does not change the color or appearance of surfaces to which it is applied and it does not discolor or etch glass, making it the perfect product for urban areas and high-rise building structures. Treated surfaces and structures stay cleaner longer because conditions that contribute to staining, such as repeated water penetration and freeze/thaw cycles, are reduced and dirt rinses away more readily.

The 40% active silane component and alcohol-based composition of SW-244-40 VOC is optimized for deep substrate penetration and reactivity that when cured, results in long-lasting protection against water, salt, and related corrosion.
When water penetrates the surface of concrete or masonry and then freezes, it expands and causes the cavity to swell and eventually rupture.
SW-244-40 VOC protects concrete and masonry from the cracking, spalling and crumbling caused by repeated freeze/thaw cycles. SW-244-40 VOC prevents water penetration by reacting chemically with the substrate to form a structural bond that locks out water. Since water can’t penetrate, there is no more expanding or damage caused by freezing. Concrete and masonry last longer!
